With 35 years of research under his belt, Dr. Larocque is an expert in the field of bariatric medicine. As a graduate of the University of Montreal, Dr. Larocque has devoted his medical career to weight management. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Bariatric Physicians, the Canadian Medical Association, former President of the Association of Doctors Treating Obesity, the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (now OMA), Obesity Medicine Association, and The American College of Sports Medicine. In addition to his successful weight management system, media appearances and books, Dr. Larocque’s many professional articles and clinical studies have appeared in leading medical journals.

Clinical Psychologist

As a doctor of Clinical Psychology, Dr. Caroline Larocque maintains a private practice dedicated to the field of obesity intervention, treatment and clinical research. Dr. Larocque earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology at the University of Montreal before going on to pursue her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Sherbrooke University. Dr. Larocque is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral therapy for depressive and anxiety disorders. She serves as a trainer in the medical field, educating other health professionals and counselors in the use of behavioral and cognitive intervention techniques. She is a public speaker and continues to pursue research in the area of weight loss.

Director of Product and Program Development

Kristina Spellman is the Director of Product and Program Development at SetPoint Health. She serves as a nutrition advisor in a variety of capacities with a focus on nutrient symbols and their functionality within grocery stores aisles. Prior to joining SetPoint Health in 2009, Kristina was a research dietitian at the Center for the Study of Nutrition and Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Kristina has been a contributor as both author and co-author in various journals and textbooks including: Obesity Management; Bariatric Times; Journal of the American Dietetic Association; Obesity Surgery-Patient Safety and Best Practices; and Kristina served as the nutrition expert on a multidisciplinary panel for the Medscape video CME entitled, “Small Steps and Practical Approaches to the Treatment of Obesity”.

Having pursued a certificate in counseling psychotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy after a career in administration, Aisling joined her husband, Paul, as a Director at Motivation Weight Management in 1995. For nine years, Aisling practiced as a consultant, helping clients lose and maintain their weight through nutritional advice and by providing physiological and psychological support alongside the methods developed by Dr. Maurice Larocque. In 2004, Aisling assumed her current position of Training Director wherein she provides ongoing training, advice and support to staff and Motivate locations throughout the Ireland. As a passionate spokesperson about helping combat the global epidemic of obesity, particularly within adolescents, Aisling is a regular public speaker in the arenas of television and radio.
